Dhinakaran, actions that infuriated EPS’s camp and eventually led to Sengottaiyan’s expulsion from the party’s primary membership. Feeling sidelined, he began weighing a switch to Vijay’s outfit. Appavu in the Chennai Secretariat on Wednesday and formally retired from his seat representing Gobichettipalayam. The resignation sparked a flurry of political chatter about his next step. At the same time, Vijay and party secretary N. Anand were reportedly talking at Vijay’s home in Pattinapakkam, Chennai, likely discussing how to slot Sengottaiyan into a prominent role within TVK. In a rapid development later that afternoon, the new‑resigned legislator turned up at Vijay’s Pattinapakkam house, where sources say he met the actor face‑to‑face to hash out his future and the possibility of joining TVK. The conversation comes as the party prepares for its maiden major contest in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. For TVK, bringing in a seasoned leader like Sengottaiyan—whose organisational skills and campaign experience are highly regarded—could prove a significant advantage.
