The Kerala dairy cooperative Mil Ma has taken its first step toward exporting its products to Australia and New Zealand. A three‑party agreement was signed in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, opening new markets beyond the Gulf region.
Mil Ma is the name of the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF). The brand is famous for selling a wide range of high‑quality milk and dairy items. It was set up to help dairy farmers get fair prices while building consumer trust in quality and ethical sourcing.
The MoU was signed by KCMMF Managing Director Asif K. Yusuf, RG Foods Executive Director Vishnu G, and Bindu Ganesh Kumar of Midnightsun Global. Mil Ma Chairman K. S. Mani watched the ceremony and highlighted the partnership as a milestone for the cooperative’s overseas reach.
Under the deal, RG Foods will manage the entire logistics chain. The company will pick up Mil Ma products at the cooperative’s facilities, arrange transport, handle customs clearance, and forward freight to Australia and New Zealand. Midnightsun Global will coordinate the operations but will not own the goods.
“Australia and New Zealand have large non‑resident Keralite communities, so Mil Ma products should fit well there,” Mani said. “The partnership will let us tap new markets while keeping farmer profits high.”
In the first phase, Mil Ma will export paneer, payasam mix (a sweet dessert) and dairy whitener. The cooperative will package and manufacture the goods to meet the strict specifications and international quality standards required for the new markets.
RG Foods will cover all logistics, customs, and distribution costs, and will assume all export and transit risks. The agreement also confirms that the cooperative will keep 92.5 percent of its profits for farmers – a figure it achieved last year.
Mil Ma’s consolidated turnover reached ₹4,327 crore in fiscal 2024‑25, reflecting the cooperative’s growing influence in India’s dairy industry. The new export partnership represents a major expansion of Mil Ma’s global footprint, bringing dairy products from Kerala to consumers across the Pacific.
